Regalia and Commencement Items

Regalia (Cap and Gown)

Academic regalia is required for your participation in the Commencement ceremonies. Please note that the Bachelor's and Master's regalia unit includes the cap, gown, and tassel. To purchase your regalia, visit the Herff Jones website. 

Commencement 101

Commencement 101 is an hour long session of commencement related content. Commencement staff describe the day-of and event logistics and expectations. It is a great opportunity to ask questions. Mark your calendars!

Commencement 101 Schedule* - LSU Ballroom C

• Tuesday, April 9 at 3 p.m.
• Monday, April 15 at 10 a.m.
• Tuesday, April 23 at 11 a.m.
• Monday, April 29 at 4 p.m.

*Same topics will be discussed in all sessions.

Stoles (Sashes)

You may purchase official CSUDH stoles at the CSUDH Bookstore. Special stoles may be given by honor programs, honor societies, and affinity groups. These special stoles are not available for purchase and are given by individual departments and programs.

University Honors Medallions

University Honors Medallions are given by the University based on criteria. These are not available for purchase and graduates qualifying for these will be contacted individually by the relevant department.

Commencement Invitations and Announcements

You can purchase general CSUDH commencement invitations through Herff Jones.  Personalized invitations from Herff Jones must be purchased in advance, as they take 3–4 weeks.

Flowers

Orchid leis and bouquets for graduates will be available for purchase on site. Graduates are encouraged to wear their leis on stage and in pictures.

To further contribute to a safe and efficient environment for your graduates and guests, we are encouraging customers to take advantage of our online pre-order service. We will have a contact-free customer experience for the guests who are simply picking up their pre-purchased and reserved product. This will also increase overall physical distancing measures.

Commencement Day Photos

Individual photos of each graduate will be taken by GradImages. Photographs will be available online for viewing and ordering as soon as possible. There is no obligation to purchase, and free photo proofs will be sent in as little as 72 hours after your event.
